Lockerbie haulier John Miller Ltd lifted Scotland’s Top Trailer Fleet of the Year title (sponsored by Montracon) at the annual Transport News Scottish Rewards presentation ceremony held in Glasgow on Friday 4 November. The popular breakfast celebration, now in its 23rd year attracted 600 road haulage industry guests and filled the banqueting suite of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

This distinctive red and yellow liveried fleet currently runs around 168 trailers made up of tankers, flats, curtainsiders and round timber carriers.
The firm’s general haulage trailer fleet all deliver 100 per cent utilisation figures, thanks to a rigorous maintenance programme that sees the firm’s efficiency rates boosted with a DVSA exemption for a ten-week inspection programme on its general haulage trailer division and the usual six week intervals for the timber group.
John Miller also put a great deal of emphasis on individual trailer specifications to ensure each load carrier is best equipped for its own specialist sphere of work. Davie Carson, director at John Miller Ltd collected the Top Trailer fleet award.
