Service measure on trailer disc brakes of BPW ECO Disc TS2 series from production period 01.01.2022- 06.09.2022
As already communicated in our first letter in Q3/2022, leaks have been detected in the area of the adjuster, respectively the bellow, on the BPW ECO Disc TS2 trailer disc brakes from a definable production period.

This can lead to corrosion inside the brake caliper, resulting in failure of the automatic adjustment function. In extreme cases, the braking effect of the affected brake may be completely lost. To avoid functional impairments and possible consequential damage, it is imperative that all affected vehicles undergo the TS2 service measure.

In our first letter, we informed you about the procedure of the service measure for axles from production period 12.03.2019 to 31.12.2021.
Today we inform you about the procedure for axles from production period 01.01.2022 to 06.09.2022. Due to further findings we had to extend the originally stated period and divide it into the following different procedures:

(1) Production period 01.01.2022 to 23.06.2022: Modification according to the previous service manual
(2) Production period 24.06.2022 to 06.09.2022: Report main inspection respectively brake test bench.

If axles from both production periods are installed in a vehicle, the service instructions apply.
Details can be found in the attached draft vehicle owner letter (see below link) or the service instructions (see below link).
To determine the vehicle identification numbers (VIN) of vehicles and vehicle owner addresses, we enclose the list of the axles concerned as an Excel file. We would be grateful if you would return the list to us containing the names and addresses and contact details for those customers affected. The Excel file is available electronically upon request. The implementation of this measure with our customers can be handled completely by BPW Limited following receipt of the details requested.

The organisational execution of this measure will be handled by BPW Bergische Achsen Kommanditgesellschaft as well as the corresponding BPW subsidiary and country representative (see below). For clarification of further technical questions please contact BPW Limited.
